A new round of nerfs in World of Warcraft is here and it’s Karazhan’s throat. Is the dungeon way too easy now?
Although we’re already into week 6 of the final season of World of Warcraft Shadowlands, dungeon balance still seems to be an issue. Patch after patch is being improved and weakened, and above all the once most popular raid Karazhan is being nerfed in its dungeon variant every time. Now the developers brought even more adjustments and weakened the first boss to the ground.
What has been changed? With a hotfix from September 6th (September 7th in Europe) the first boss of the “Lower Karazhan” was significantly weakened. All three variants of the boss fight now deal significantly less damage. The changes in detail are:
Why is the first boss such a problem? The catch with the first boss of Karazhan is that the so-called “theater event” offers a different boss every week – there are three different ones. As a result, the “Mythic+” fans have to adapt to new tactics every time and master almost three times the amount of boss mechanics in order to be prepared for all eventualities.
This contributes to the fact that Karazhan continues to be considered one of the toughest dungeons – if only because the coming week offers different bosses than the last one. Memorizing is simply more difficult here and leads to problems. Therefore, Blizzard adjusted the general strength of the first Karazhan boss. He shouldn’t be a big blockade in the future – because a first boss should never be.

The developers say about the nerfs:
The Lower Karazhan Opera Hall events have proven to be deadlier than we’d like, especially with a weekly rotation making them difficult to master in Mythic+. We’ve made some adjustments in the hope that the difficulty of these events will now be more in line with our expectations.
What do you think of the nerfs? The right move to make Karazhan more popular? Or was the dungeon easy enough?
