Jan Guillou has been involved in a traffic incident in Östermalm.
– I saved the life of a cyclist, but it was a bit expensive. It costs two battered cars, he says.
The author, journalist and Aftonbladet columnist Jan Guillou has collided with two parked cars in Östermalm.
The accident happened on Tuesday afternoon. The cause must have been a careless cyclist who tried to overtake Guillou in a turn, according to him.
– There came such a speed cannon and tried to overtake me on the inside when I was about to turn right. Had I continued the turn, there is no doubt that I would have clipped him, says Jan Guillou.
– When I see him in the corner of my eye, I throw the steering wheel in the other direction, so as not to hit that speed gun. Then my turn is widened so that I hit a refug at the crossing, and as a result the car is thrown like a catapult into two cars. The cyclist then disappears like a black spot.
No one was injured in the accident
Jan Guillou is convinced that the cyclist must have seen him for quite some time before the accident occurred.
– It was a middle-aged man who drives like an animal. Where he got the idea to sneak past me in the turn I don’t know. Instead of braking, he increased his speed as he approached, says Guillou.
No one is said to have been injured in the accident. However, the two parked cars and Jan Guillou’s own car were damaged.
– It was expensive to save that cyclist’s life. It is known that we have idiot cyclists in Stockholm and they are a traffic hazard. This is an illustrative example of that.
According to Guillou, the cyclist is suspected of being responsible for the accident. However, the unknown cyclist has not made himself known.
