When the International School started in 2012, it had about sixty students. Now, ten years later, the school has a thousand students. According to the ‘head of school’ Marieke Folkerts, an international school is appropriate for Utrecht. “We can continue to grow because Utrecht has an international business climate. Many knowledge workers live here who come here for a number of years. I therefore think that a city like Utrecht deserves and needs an international school.”
