At 7 p.m. sharp, Destiny 2 rolls out its weekly reset, which is a little special at the same time. On September 6, 2017, the servers of the loot shooter and successor to Destiny 1 were activated for the first time. Since then, guardians have populated the worlds of Destiny 2. Destiny 2 will probably not celebrate today’s birthday in the game. Bungie just keeps pushing its milestones and welcoming new Guardians to the Cosmodrome every day. The last expansion “The Witch Queen” already had over 1 million pre-orders. The upcoming Lightfall DLC is on track to top that. It has topped the Steam sales chart since its release. Still, the years have changed Destiny 2. Destiny 1 had amazing content. But Destiny 2’s overall upgrades with class abilities, customization, and quality of life are just plain better. Both the optics and the engine have now been heavily polished by Bungie. However, the developer is also in the process of preparing the beginning of the end and the beginning of a great Destiny universe.

This is happening this week: For the Guardians, however, it’s Iron Banner this week. Valus Forge, formerly Lord Saladin Forge, is about to erupt. That’s what Bungie calls the new PvP mode in Season 18, which you can try out tonight as a deadly pack of wolves in the Iron Banner.

Players can also earn some pinnacle gear in the free Prophecy dungeon. Where else there are, we’ll tell you now.

Vanguard: Dawn – The Crucible

  • Fallen SABERin the cosmodrome
  • This week you must once again prevent the devils from gaining control of Rasputin’s war satellites. If that were to happen, Golden Age guns would be aimed at the Tower and the Last City within minutes.

    • This week’s Dusk Weapon: As a reward for your run, you always get a special twilight weapon. In Season 18, Bungie has a few good options here.

  • We’ll know which weapon is available this week after 7pm when the API is updated.

    • You will be able to earn the master version (Adept) from October 4th. Because then the level of difficulty “front runner” starts.

    Playlist strikes have the following modifiers this week:

  • Arc Singe
  • Stasis Burn

  • The Singe modifier stays with you throughout the week, the others change daily.

    • Endgame: Raid challenges and dungeon rotation

    That happens in the raid “The student’s oath“:

  • The challenge starts in the “Oath of the Apprentice” raid “Rapid Destruction”. To complete them, players must defeat all unstoppable champions at once or within a few seconds.
  • As a reward for completing the first stage of the Grandmaster Raid challenge this week, there is a chance for a master version of the Submachine Gun Submission, Fusion Rifle Redemption, or Linear Fusion Rifle Cataclysm.

    • You get additional top rewards from the endgame:

  • in the Braytech raid “Deepstone Crypt” on the ice moon Europa.
  • As well as in the “Prophecy” dungeon, which is accessible to all players for free via the tower.
    • Claim Daito armor and more in the Prophecy dungeon.

    Weekly Activities

    With Season 18 new activities have come to Destiny 2 that turn the Guardians into pirates with their own crew and let them puzzle over cryptic quatrains.

  • Ketch Crash: Engage in ship-to-ship combat to stop Eramis and her band of pirates from wreaking havoc across the galaxy in this new 6-player activity.
  • Expedition: Compile treasure maps, search for treasure and return to your ship while fending off enemy pirate crews.
  • Pirate Hideouts: Fight your way through weekly missions and loot powerful relics hidden in the pirate lords’ lairs.

    • In addition, the content of the current DLC “The Witch Queen” is still active and can be played. For example in the weekly repeatable campaign mission.

    Savathun’s Throne World – Weekly campaign mission

  • “The last chance”
  • This week, you can play Witch Queen’s seventh campaign mission as a repeatable story mission. It’s about following the trusted source of Eris, who informs you about an artifact in the Throne World that may hold the answer to how Savathun attained the Light.

  • Petra Venj can now be found in the dreaming city right at the spawn point – as always for the 2nd curse week. At the same time, the 6th Ascendant Challenge is active.

    This is the new max level: In the new season of raiders, the maximum power level of your gear is 1,580. This means that the power level at the start of the new Season 18 has increased by +10 compared to the previous Season 17. All players receive the base base power level of 1,350.

    How to get free loot: For all new and old Guardians who would like to play in the future or after a break, Bungie has prepared “The Gift of the Thunder Gods” in Season 18.

    You can claim this Loot Chest for free in the HELM after completing the New Light campaign. It takes you to a power level of up to 1540 or more – with arc armor and weapons, as well as two exotic and ten legendary items. You can also pick up the rewards once for all your characters.

    • Bright Dust Highlights in Eververse

    This week in Eververse, you can be bitten by a small, venomous snake and shop for the Snake Bite weapon ornament, adorned with digital snakeskin leather, for the exotic Huckleberry submachine gun.
