Frida Karlsson made an unexpected comeback on the soccer field.
Then something unexpected was heard from a young supporter on the side of the field.
Frida Karlsson is not only one of the world’s best skiers – she also has some talent when it comes to ball sports. Frida Karlsson’s two sisters, Hannah and Fanny, play in Remsle UIF, and when there was a series final this weekend, Frida Karlsson was on the pitch.
Comeback on the football field
Frida Karlsson has previously sponsored the team’s warm-up shirts, and Frida has long wanted to find a slot to attend a match. And once she was involved, it was a success. It didn’t exactly turn out to be 90 minutes for the star – rather a brief appearance as a right-back – but afterwards she was highly praised.
The team’s coach, Anders Törnlund, believes that Frida Karlsson contributed a lot, even off the field.
– She contributed with energy and joy. It was very important and especially now that it was the series final. It kind of lightened the overall mood in the squad, so it was fun, he says to ÖP.
Young supporter’s coup
And of course it was also cool for the spectators to see a star like Frida Karlsson on the pitch. According to ÖP, there was a young supporter who cheered on Frida Karlsson’s opponent during the first half.
– Hey mom, hey mom, must have been shouted, according to the newspaper.
But when Frida Karlsson was replaced, the tones were suddenly different from the young supporter:
– Don’t push Frida, mother.
For Frida Karlsson, more intensive training awaits before the new season, which begins at the end of November. Whether there will be a few more matches in the Ruif shirt remains to be seen.
– No idea, but I wouldn’t mind having her with me more times. Frida is always welcome in Ruif, says the coach.
