Whale song is carried along during humpback whales’ long migrations across the oceans, and scientists have now seen how local songs migrated further across the Pacific – from the coast of Australia and all the way to Ecuador, reports Science Radio.
The researchers, whose study was published in the scientific journal Royal Society Open Science, believe that the whales pick up the local melodies of other populations as they move across the oceans.
