Twitch streamer “Tasty” announced that he received a shadow ban in Call of Duty: Warzone. His account is checked for suspicious actions. It took the streamer just 2 days after the start of Season 5 to reach the maximum season level of 1,000.
Call of Duty switched their prestige system to a season system a few years ago. You used to hit a set max level, manually reset your progress, and then ramp up to max level again at a higher prestige level.
Today your level resets every season, but you keep all your unlocked items. For this you get 1,000 season levels to climb and can unlock a lot of cosmetics and challenges.
Reaching Season Level 1,000 is quite an achievement. If you just play Warzone, it takes forever to even get close to the maximum. Twitch streamer “Tasty” used a little trick and managed the 1,000 levels of Season 5 in just 2 days.
But he is now under suspicion of cheating.
The story of the current Season 5 of Warzone can be seen in the trailer:
Leveled too well: Streamer receives a shadow ban
On September 03, 2022, Tasty tweeted:
During his matches, he noticed that match-making takes much longer and he now constantly has to deal with cheaters. Clear signs that you have received a shadow ban.
When he asked Activision, he found out that his account was currently “under review”. So Tasty actually got a shadow ban and only played with accounts that are also “under review”.
What is a shadowban in CoD Warzone and what can you do about it?
For the streamer it is clear: The review is about the fact that he reached the 1,000 levels in Warzone within 2 days. Without cheats or unlock tools, this can hardly be explained at first glance.
Then how did he do it? Tasty discovered a very powerful way to increase account level. This works particularly well on the small map “Fortune’s Keep”. In addition, his method has been strengthened by the current event “The Last Stand”.
The method has been a thing since the inception of shot sale events, but little is known about it until now. This has now changed due to the excessive use of twitch streamer Tasty, and a nerf may be imminent.
If you want Tasty to explain the method to you himself, check out his English video on YouTube (via youtube.com).
However, you should be careful when using it. By banning Tasty, it’s clear that the developers didn’t intend for such fast leveling. It is even “suspicious cheat” and can result in a shadow ban.
