“I love property tax” is written in large text on a picture of Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson (S). But it is not the Social Democrats who are behind the posters that have been put up in the Stockholm area.
– It is of course serious that you put up fake posters and spread lies about our politics, says Juan-Pablo Roa, press director of the Social Democrats.
The images are used for the wrong purpose
The second poster shows Integration and Migration Minister Anders Ygeman (S) with the text “S ready for property tax – strong support among voters”.
Joakim Berndes is the photographer on the poster, but he is not behind the message.
– I have taken some pictures in Almedalen before and posted them on a picture bank that is open to everyone. It is very sad that they are used for the wrong purpose, he says.
Berndes works as a photographer and has now stopped posting pictures of politicians.
– It is not the first time it has happened. In previous contexts, right-wing extremists have used photos that I took. It has made me lose interest in posting such pictures.
No legal action planned
The Social Democrats believe that they have received information about fake election posters, but that they are not planning any legal action at the moment.
– Election campaigns must be conducted with decent methods, not with lies and false material, says Juan-Pablo Roa, press director of the Social Democrats.
