Although Jonkers invariably opposed the school complex at Parklaan during his term of office, he must now, a few months after his appointment, acknowledge to the residents of Montfoort that there is no other way. “The councilorship has provided me with new information,” explains Jonkers, who has now been given a look in the books as an alderman. “Switching locations now would cause significant delays and it could easily cost the municipality an extra five million euros. That is financially unjustifiable.” He does not like to recover any additional costs from the residents of Montfoort.
