(Finance) – “TheHungary sign a contract with Gazprom for the supply of a maximum of approximately 5.8 million cubic meters of natural gas more on a daily basis, in addition to the contractual amount already in place. “To announce this in a tweet is Zoltan Kovacs, spokesman for Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, on the day when supplies to Europe were interrupted by the Russian energy company. “Hungary’s energy supply – wrote Kovacs – is secure”.
In the morning the Entsog, the European Network of Gas Transmission System Operators, had signaled the stop to Russian supplies. The Russian company Gazprom had already announced a three-day stop for works in one compression station in northern Germany, from which the gas is then exported to other European countries.
The fear of European leaders, however, is that Russia may extend the hiatus in an attempt to increase prices of the gaswhich have already increased by 400%.
