Saturday August 27, the journalist from France Info revealed on Twitter that he had overcome his cancer. On a snapshot taken at the hospital, we see him smiling, thumbs up.
It is a relief for all his relatives. Louis Laforge, former emblematic figure of France 3 and editor-in-chief of the Special Editions of France info, revealed this Saturday that he had won his fight against the disease. For more than a year, the journalist had been fighting against a dreadful cancer.
12 months after his operation, the journalist is cured
The former presenter of the show “Des Racines et des Ailles” shared the good news on his Twitter account:
“It was a year ago, August 27, 2021 at the Pompidou Hospital in Paris: a kidney, a ureter canal, a piece of small intestine and colon and above all one less cancer. 12 months later, still some pain, still a little tired… but so happy to be alive “, he writes.
Exactly one year after his operation for his cancer (i.e. August 27, 2021) the face of the info channel Franceinfo therefore reveals to be “cured”. The journalist does not specify, however, the type of cancer from which he suffered. Nevertheless, several sources indicate that it would be kidney cancer.
A happy shot
On Twitter, the editor-in-chief accompanies his message with a photo of him on his hospital bed, perfused but with a thumbs up, a symbol of his victory. He also takes this opportunity to thank the nursing staff, present throughout his fight.
“A big THANK YOU to all the health professionals who do a great job despite very precarious conditions. A thought also to all those who are fighting against the disease. And thank you to the whole Franceinfo team for their support and trust.“, he added.

In France, nearly 13,000 people are affected each year by kidney cancer.
This silent disease usually develops without causing any particular symptoms. Sometimes, it is accompanied by non-specific signs: weight loss, fatigue, fever…
In reality, it is especially when the tumor grows that this cancer manifests itself; which makes its diagnosis rather late.
Sometimes the disease causes hematuria (presence of blood in the urine) or causes pain in the flank. It can also take the form of a palpable ball or mass in the lower back.
In the majority of cases, kidney cancer is discovered by chance during an ultrasound performed for other reasons (renal colic, etc.).
If properly treated, this type of cancer can be treated quite well: the cure rate is relatively high.
