In Diablo 3, you can do bounties to earn Greater Horadric Chests. The content differs per act and depending on the difficulty. We show you what rewards the bounties bring.
What are bounties? If you open the map in Diablo 3 adventure mode (on the PC with the “M” key), you will see an overview with 5 bounties in the lower right corner in each act. They are always similar: “Kill Mob XY plus 50 other enemies”, “Purify the cursed chest in this location”, “Kill all enemies on level 2 of this cave” and so on.
Some money and XP await you for completing each Bounty. If you complete 5 bounties in an act, a Greater Horadric Chest awaits you. We’ll show you what’s inside and how the chests differ from act to act.
Bounty Rewards Acts 1 through 5 – What’s Inside?
This is the loot: In each Large Horadric Chest you will find crafting materials, a few items, gold and recipes (until you have all kinds of them). There is also the chance of Legendary Items, which you can only get from these chests. The chance of getting these items increases with higher difficulty. Which Legendary Items drop depends on which Act you got the chest from.
Below we show you the loot on difficulty level Torment 16. On lower difficulties, the chances of items dropping and the number of materials shrinking.
Act I
This is in the bounty bag:
What legendary items can be inside? From the Act I bounty, the ring of royal pomp is the most worthwhile. It goes with many builds as it reduces the required number of set pieces by 1. The other four items are rarely if ever used in builds.
Act II
This is in the bounty bag:
What legendary items can be inside? The gloves and shoes are played in some builds and can be worthwhile.
Act III
This is in the bounty bag:
What legendary items can be inside?
Act IV
This is in the bounty bag:
What legendary items can be inside? Act IV has no “native” Legendary Items that can drop from the Greater Horadric Cache. Instead, there is an opportunity to obtain two Legendary Items from all other Acts.
Act V
This is in the bounty bag:
What legendary items can be inside?
What are bounties for?
They are good for: At the beginning of a new season, players solve the bounties in order to unlock recipes for the blacksmith, for example. In addition, the bounties are required to solve the Season Journey.
The special nude materials are also required as the game progresses. If you want to drain legendary properties or reforge legendary items with Kanai’s Cube, then you need the material.
There are even communities like Bountys and Rifts where you can form groups to farm bounty together. This is how players split up into the different Acts and all contribute to getting the 5 Great Horadric Chests out of a game quickly. Speed builds are desired.
