According to the newspaper El País, which refers to police sources, Aubameyang is said to have been beaten and forced to open a safe with jewellery. The robbers, at least four in number, are said to have also threatened Aubameyang and his wife with both firearms and iron pipes.
It is far from the first time football players have been robbed. In Spain, players such as Casemiro, Álvaro Morata, Gerard Piqué, Samuel Umtiti and Jordi Alba have been affected before. And also in England, many famous names, including Victor Nilsson Lindelöf and Robin Olsen, have been exposed to similar crimes.
