It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster ride this week.
But now Färjestad confirms that they have done with NHL meritorious Remi Elie.
– We have worked hard to fill up our center side, says Rickard Wallin to the club’s website.
Färjestad is the reigning Swedish champion after a dramatic final series against Luleå. During the summer, the club has been responsible for several changes in the squad, and it is not at all the same Färjestad who is on the ice when the season starts.
All ready for Färjestad
Among others, they have lost Jacob de la Rose, Gustav Rydahl and Jesse Virtanen. After the loss of the first two, Färjestad has been looking for a center – which they have now found.
The club confirms on its website that they have signed a contract with the NHL-merited center Remi Elie, most recently with the Syracuse Crunch in the AHL.
– We have worked hard to fill up our center side and it is of course nice that Elie is now coming to us, says Rickard Wallin and continues:
– Elie possesses many of the qualities that we lost when Gustav and Jacob left us. He is a good combination of power and skill and has experience in both the NHL, and has been a top player in the AHL in recent years.
The competitor tried to lure Elie
It has been a little less entourage this week. On Monday, Värmland’s Folkblad could tell that the club was looking for the center, and the supporters had not missed that Remi Elie’s girlfriend had started following Färjestad on Instagram.
Rickard Wallin did not want to comment on the information, and yesterday Norrbottens-Kuriren said that Luleå offered Elie a contract. But he is now completely clear for Färjestad.
