After suffering from painful symptoms for years, 38-year-old Jennifer French learned she had a liver disease that would cause her to die any minute after giving birth to twins Rupert and Molly.
A mother of five first noticed her skin turning black in March 2017 and began to experience cold sores, a small, itchy bump on the skin that occurs in response to cold weather. Even the slightest breeze caused him to suffer like torture. He couldn’t walk for a while. In this process, doctors investigated the cause of the woman’s illness. Over the years, the unfortunate woman’s health continued to deteriorate.
THE BIRTH OF THE TWINS CHANGED EVERYTHING
After giving birth, doctors discovered two blood clots in the woman’s liver. One is newer and the other has been there for years. He was diagnosed with Budd-Chiari syndrome (BCS), a liver condition in which blood vessels become narrowed and blocked.
A stent was inserted into French’s liver to help blood flow, and he is finally able to spend time with his children, now living pain-free. “Oddly enough, having twins saved my life,” French says.
The woman, who said, “I suffered for years,” learned after the birth of the twins that the decays in her body were caused by her liver.
