The star is rumored to go to a completely different SHL team instead.
Färjestad has lost players since the SM gold in the spring, and it is no secret that they are looking for a new top center. It was therefore many supporters who were delighted by the information that came about Remi Elie earlier this week.

As recently as last winter, Elie played one game for the Tampa Bay Lightning in the NHL, but otherwise he has shown good numbers in the AHL. The connection to Färjestad, then? Attentive supporters noted that Elie’s wife had started following Färjestad on Instagram.
Rickard Wallin, sports director in Färjestad, admitted that they had control of the player, which increased the rumors of a possible signing.
– Nice that people are paying attention. I’ve got a handle on him. I understand that people are curious about who it might be. We constantly probe the market and try to get hold of something. We have a few different tracks, he said.
Offered contract
But now comes the twist. According to Norrbottens Kuriren, Elie may now end up in the team that Färjestad won the spring SC final against. The local newspaper writes that Luleå even offered a contract proposal to the player, who in such cases would have an important responsibility in replacing, among others, Linus Omark, who left after the season.
During his career, Remi Elie has managed 107 games in the NHL, where he accounted for 22 points. In the AHL, there have been 121 points in a total of 256 games. In 2013, he was drafted in the second round, as the 40th player overall, by the Dallas Stars.
