The Social Democrats want to introduce the language requirement during the next term. It shall apply to all employees in both private and publicly run businesses.

The party does not have a figure for how much test and language training would cost, but the idea is that the state should cover part of the bill, together with municipalities and employers. This is Sweden’s largest occupational group. 129,000 people today work as assistant nurses in home care and in nursing homes.

But the same thing that S is proposing today has already been presented by the Sweden Democrats before.
