Today the polling stations open for those who want to vote early and in Malmö people were there early. – Election day is the celebration of democracy and this is a way to extend the party, says Daniel Olsson, who is the head of elections at the electoral office in Malmö. Early voting takes place until election day, Sunday 11 September, in any of the premises arranged by the country’s municipalities. All that is needed is identification and a voting card. – I think it’s absolutely fantastic, says Daniel Lindberg, who cast his vote on Tuesday morning. During the 2018 election, every third vote was early voting, which shows an increase compared to the 2006 election when every fourth vote was an early vote.
