But now Manchester United have passed their antagonists – and can be seen as another heavy blow for Liverpool after Monday’s loss.
On the football pitch, Liverpool and Manchester United have lived in different worlds in recent seasons. The former have won several titles such as the Champions League, the Premier League and the FA Cup, while United have hardly won anything at all.
Tough start
Both clubs have had a tough start to the season and before Monday’s meeting between the teams had not won either of the two opening games. A real anxiety meeting right away that still had an unexpected result.
Manchester United defeated one of their biggest rivals by two goals to nil and Jürgen Klopp’s men have not won a game in this season’s edition of the Premier League.

It is the case that Manchester United has taken over the throne that Liverpool has been sitting on for several years as the most popular team in Sweden. In a survey by Svenska Spel with over 6,500 participants, Manchester United are currently the most popular team among Swedes.
In third place comes Arsenal, followed by Chelsea, Tottenham, Manchester City, Nottingham Forest, West Ham, Leeds and Everton.
