Prosecutors begin a preliminary investigation into misconduct after the municipality of Staffanstorp decided not to accept quota refugees. This is reported by Sydsvenskan.

Last spring, the Skåne municipality Staffanstorp decided to introduce a total stop for quota refugees, despite the fact that all municipalities must accept them according to the Settlement Act.

Prosecutor Emma Adolfsson is now investigating whether it could be misconduct. There are no suspects in the case and no interrogations have been held. However, it may be relevant that politicians in the municipal board may be prosecuted.

– It is my opinion that you can do it, if you also fulfill the other prerequisites. Then you cannot be excluded from misconduct, says the prosecutor to Sydsvenskan.

Emma Adolfsson does not want to give any details of the investigation other than that several reports have been received and that it can be investigated under public prosecution.

The quota refugee cap was lifted in mid-June after refugee forecasts from Ukraine were written down.
