Two smaller planes collided as they were both coming in to land at an airport in Northern California.
The collision between the two Cessna aircraft, one twin-engine and one single-engine, occurred at 3:00 p.m. local time at the Watsonville airport. At least two of the three people on board the aircraft were killed.
It is unclear what caused the accident, which will be investigated.
No one on the ground is said to have been injured.
