232 shootings have taken place in Sweden up to August this year. On Sunday, the government put forward a package of tough new penalties for gang criminals. Among other things, they want the police to be able to search every basement storage room, every apartment, every car where gang criminals can hide their weapons – WITHOUT concrete criminal suspicion. – It is a violent expansion of our coercive means, it is about house searches without criminal suspicion. It will arouse a lot of opposition, as it goes against our legal tradition in a very obvious way, says Leif GW Persson, criminologist and author.
