According to the report published by Microsoft, Xbox One sales have lagged behind the sales of Playstation 4, and the company has focused on systems such as Gamepass.
Xbox One sales are half as much, maybe even less, than Playstation 4 sales. Microsoft, which has not announced console sales since 2016, but instead announced Xbox Live statistics, has lagged behind Sony on consoles. The statement noticed by the Game Luster site is as follows:
“Sony surpassed Microsoft in console sales, selling 2x more consoles than Xbox in the last generation.”
Xbox One sales lag far behind Playstation 4 sales
We never got to know about the console’s official sales following the troubled release of the Xbox One. Instead, Microsoft was marred by its failure in the console space, particularly the massive popularity of Gamepass. Microsoft intimidated Sony by buying Activision-Blizzard, and Sony then took Bungie under its umbrella.
Sony, on the other hand, has not announced PS4 sales since March. According to the company’s latest statement, PS4 sales had sold 117 million. This means that Xbox One has sold -approximately- 58 million. A statistical study conducted in 2020 also claimed that Xbox One sold 51 million in 2020. It was announced that the number of sales of Nintendo Switch was 111 million. This pushed the Xbox One to third place in the console competition.
