Tax, MEF: tax and social security revenues grow by 11.6%

(Finance) – Tax and social security revenues in the first half of 2022 have increased by 39.1 billion euros (+ 11.6%) compared to the same period of 2021 to 375 billion euros. This is what emerges from the Revenue Report drawn up by the Department of Finance and the Department of State General Accounting of the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

The result derives from the positive change in tax revenues of 14.5% to 254.7 billion euros (+32.2 billion euros) and the growth, in cash terms, in contributory revenues of 6.0% to 120.3 billion euros (+6.8 billion euros). The amount of tax revenues, the Mef reminds us, also includes the main taxes of local authorities and the corrective items, therefore it integrates the data already disclosed with the note of 5 August last

In particular, compared to the same period last year, the Report records an increase in the revenue from taxes accounted for in the state budget (+28,951 million euros, + 13.5%).

The changes are also positive for collections from verification and control activities (+2,518 million euros, + 70.8%) and for the revenue from local authorities (+3,208 million euros, + 13.4%) .

Contribution income too, underlines the Mef, “show an increase mainly attributable to the growth in contributory revenues from the private sector due to the positive trend of the economic situation and the labor market recorded in the first months of 2022”.
