Around 100 people were expected to attend the sports debate on Monday evening, where, among other things, sports associations and all parties in the municipal council were invited.
– On the one hand, we want to bring the associations together with politics, and on the other hand, we want to know what plans they have and what issues are important to different parties. We want to hear if there are concrete proposals or what is being thought about in the long term to ensure the future generations’ needs for space and sports, says Charlotta Stenhem, district sports manager RF-SISU.
Members have been denied
According to RF-SISU’s survey, one in three sports associations has had to refuse members due to lack of time or space, in the last three years. An alarming result, says Charlotta Stenhem.
– We want politics to take these issues seriously and to actually invest in renovation and investment in sports.
According to Charlotta, the sport brings with it a variety of other positive consequences, start the clip to hear her tell more about why the issue is important.
