Automotive Authorized Dealers Association President Dr. Altuğ Erciş talked about the new sales application that has become official in the focus of second-hand vehicles.
The new application, which came to the agenda regarding the purchase of second-hand vehicles last week, was officially launched in the second half of August. The opportunism in the sector is aimed to be prevented with the amendment of the regulation made by the TR Ministry of Commerce on the “Trade of Second-Hand Motor Vehicles”, which was published in the Official Gazette and entered into force as of August 16, 2022. While the decision pleases some, there are still expectations for stricter measures, although some parties are well-intentioned. Speaking about the decision last week, Automotive Authorized Dealers Association (OYDER) President Dr. Altuğ Erciş made statements about the importance of the new application once it became official.

“We have full faith in the practice in the purchase of second-hand vehicles”
In the explanations of Altuğ Erciş; “With the new regulation change published by the TR Ministry of Commerce, a restriction was imposed on the sales and marketing of the first registered vehicles for 6 months and 6,000 km. As we mentioned before, we, as Automotive Authorized Dealers, support this decision to prevent speculative movements in the market, and our Minister, Dr. We would like to thank all the Ministry staff, especially Mehmet Muş. The fact that the decision was made temporarily to cover a certain period of time also shows that our Ministry trusts our sector dynamics and believes that the problems will be resolved once the global effects are eliminated.
I believe that this practice, which we believe will eliminate the opportunistic approaches that appear in our industry from time to time, will eliminate both unfair claims on Authorized Dealers and unfair competitors seeking high profits. As OYDER, I would like to emphasize once again that we stand by all kinds of practices that support registered and regular trade that our industry is accustomed to, and that we are against those who harm this valuable industry by chasing periodic gains.” made statements.
