The moderates want to punish more activities within the framework of criminal gangs. Among other things, acting as a driver, scouting for gangs and acting as a running boy.
– There are a number of crimes within gang crime that are not punished for today, says M’s legal policy spokesperson Johan Forssell.
He refers to Court of Appeal judgments where, despite the fact that the act is considered proven, the court concluded that it is not covered by the legislation. Forssell mentions several examples of ways to assist criminal gangs that should be punishable, such as storing equipment, keeping an eye out for the police, spying on other gangs, acting as a driver and relaying messages.
The moderates actually want to introduce a completely new law that criminalizes participation in criminal gangs. However, it requires a constitutional amendment and could not be implemented during the next term.
