Five people have been found dead after Sunday’s powerful explosion and subsequent fire at the Surmalu market in Armenia’s capital, Yerevan.
Over 60 were injured and 19 people are still missing.
During the night’s rescue work, ten survivors have been dug out of the rubble, the authorities say.
The cause of the explosion has not yet been determined. But witnesses told local media that the explosion was triggered in a fireworks warehouse.
The disaster is happening in a country still struggling to recover from the 2020 war with Azerbaijan.
