Autostrade ART launches fact finding investigation for user protection

(Finance) – Traffic from stamp black for the big ones departures in August. Starting this afternoon, traffic is expected to increase steadily along the Anas network (FS Italiane Group). In particular Viability Italy provides for a red stamp, starting from today, and a black stamp in the morning of tomorrow, 13 August, with increasing shifts towards the major directions. The vignette turns red starting from the afternoon of Saturday 13 August and throughout Sunday, 14 August, with heavy traffic for the last departures for the holidays and for the Ferragosto bridge, a day in which lighter traffic is expected from a yellow sticker. .

The sections concerned are, in a southerly direction, the main routes towards locality from holiday, in particular along the Adriatic, Tyrrhenian and Ionian ridges and at the border crossings in the direction of France, Slovenia and Croatia, and out of urban centers and for the numerous local movements. Furthermore, a consistent flow of traffic is expected in the vicinity of centers urban, especially starting from late Sunday afternoon, coinciding with the weekend returns. Today from 16.00 to 22.00, tomorrow Saturday 13 August from 8.00 to 22.00, Sunday 14 August and Monday 15, the day of August 15, from 7.00 to 22.00 there is a ban on the transit of heavy vehicles.

The traffic it will concern in particular i main tourist itineraries: the A2 “Autostrada del Mediterraneo” which crosses Campania, Basilicata and Calabria; state roads 106 Jonica and 18 Tirrena Inferiore in Calabria; the A19 Palermo-Catania and A29 Palermo-Mazara del Vallo motorways in Sicily; the state road 131 Carlo Felice in Sardinia; the state road 148 Pontina nel Lazio, a particularly busy artery which together with the SS7 “Appia” ensures connections between Rome and the tourist resorts of lower Lazio; the E45 itinerary (SS675 and SS3 bis) which involves Umbria, Tuscany, Emilia Romagna and connects the north east with central Italy; the routes SS1 Aurelia (Lazio, Tuscany and Liguria), SS16 Adriatica (Puglia, Molise, Abruzzo, Emilia-Romagna and Veneto).

Finally, in the north, the RA13 and RA14 motorway junctions in Friuli Venezia Giulia towards the border crossings, the SS36 of Lake Como and Spluga in Lombardy, the SS45 of Val Trebbia in Liguria, the SS26 of the Valle D’Aosta and the SS309 Romea between Emilia Romagna and Veneto and the SS 51 of Alemagna in Veneto.

At the moment, on the A2 “Mediterranean motorway”, Due to the intense rainfall of the last hours in the province of Reggio Calabria, there are slowdowns at the boarding points of Villa San Giovanni with waiting times of about 3 hours. In order to facilitate the flow of traffic from the north, the exit ramp of the Villa San Giovanni junction was temporarily closed. Vehicular traffic can take advantage of the subsequent “Santa Trada” junction and then re-enter the A2 in a southerly direction for the Villa San Giovanni junction. For residents, the Campo Calabro exit is recommended.

With the aim of facilitating displacements and reduce i inconvenience for users and in anticipation of the increase in vehicular flows, Anas has taken steps to remove, starting from 8 July and until 4 September, over 500 construction sites, more than half of those previously active (over a thousand), with the aim of to offer a more comfortable and safer journey, not only for short and medium-haul trips, but also for long-haul. The reduction of Anas road construction sites is part of the Plan agreed and promoted by the Ministry of Sustainable Infrastructures and Mobility (Mims).

Under the supervision h. 24 of National Situation Room operate 21 Territorial Operating Rooms (h24 and h12) including that of the A2 “Autostrada del Mediterraneo”, which works alongside the Police Road. On the road and motorway network, on a shift basis, there are approximately 2,500 employees for surveillance, emergency response, assistance to users, coordination of technical and management activities. The staff has over 2,000 vehicles at their disposal, of which 1,100 are equipped with cameras, 1,234 variable message panels and 6,230 fixed cameras.
