At least 41 people have died in a church fire in Cairo, Egypt.
According to the Egyptian Ministry of Health, there are at least 55 injured.
The cause of the fire was apparently an electrical fault, reports news agency Reuters.
The fire broke out at the Abu Shifin Coptic Church in the Imbaba neighborhood. There were 5,000 people in the church when the fire broke out, who had gathered there for mass.
The fire blocked the entrance to the church and caused panic. Most of the dead were children, said sources interviewed by Reuters.
President of Egypt Abdel Fattah al-Sisi announced on its Facebook page that it had mobilized all the necessary government units to help the victims of the fire.
The fire department has said that the fire has been brought under control.
