Ridgetown woman accused of attacking former partner with knife

A 25-year-old man wanted by Chatham-Kent police for allegedly failing to attend court was arrested at the Ambassador Bridge on Friday night.

Around 10 pm, the Canada Border Services Agency arrested the man on the outstanding warrant. Chatham-Kent officers attended and returned him to headquarters, where he was held for a bail hearing.

Suspicious man on Grand Avenue

On Friday evening, police received information about a suspicious man running out of a house on Grand Avenue West wearing no shoes.

After police arrived, the man continued to run, allegedly jumping onto a yard shed and damaging it.

The 24-year-old man was located and charged with mischief. Police said he also had two outstanding bench warrants. He was released with a short date.

Men arrested on warrants

On Friday afternoon in Chatham, a 42-year-old man was arrested on an outstanding Chatham-Kent police warrant for public mischief.

He was also wanted by Brantford Police for allegedly failing to comply with a release order. He was held in custody until Brantford Police attended to transport him.

In a separate incident that afternoon, a 51-year-old man turned himself in on a warrant for allegedly failing to comply with an undertaking. He was arrested and released with a court date.
