According to the head of school Johan Romberg, it is about 150 students who are forced to leave the school they attended.
The background to the financial problems is that the city of Gothenburg has deposited tens of millions of kroner in school money with the county board instead of paying the money to the school, because the association behind the school has no bank account.
“We’ve been trying to get paid by the city of Gothenburg all along, but we didn’t receive notification in good time, and then we had to make that decision,” says Mohammad El-Alti, who sits on the board that runs the schools, to GP.
In June, M, V and MP wanted the municipality to start paying out the money to the school’s tax account, because the officials at the primary school administration concluded that there is no legal obstacle to start paying, and that the municipality then has an obligation to pay out the money promptly .
But S, D and L pushed through that the issue should be raised to the municipal council instead – which will make a decision only this autumn.
