Earlier in July, Djurgården faced Croatian HNK Rijeka in a doubleheader for advancement to the third qualifying round of the Conference League.
On its website, Djurgården confirms that the European football association Uefa has chosen to punish the club with a total of 32,500 euros, equivalent to 335,000 kroner, for supporters’ behavior during both the home and away matches.
It concerns three different incidents: For provocative messages of an offensive nature during the away match in Croatia and for entering the pitch and lighting pyrotechnics during the home match.
Djurgården defeated Rijeka with a total of 4–1.
“Djurgården would like to take this opportunity to encourage you to contribute to a positive match experience – for everyone! It is forbidden to ignite pyrotechnics in the stands, and it is also forbidden to enter the field or the area below the stands you are on,” writes the club in a statement on its website.
Today, Thursday, Dif faces Sepsi in the third qualifying round.
