In Germany, concern is now growing for the winter, when the country may be hit by a deep energy crisis. The problem is natural gas, which half of all households use for heating and several industrial sectors are completely dependent on. Since Russia is delivering well below what Germany has ordered, gas may have to be cut off for some customers during the winter months.
In Berlin, one can nowadays quite easily start a fun but also serious debate with a quick question: If there is not enough natural gas this winter, should the bakeries or breweries be higher on the list of those allowed to continue working?
