Denmark is also to train Ukrainian soldiers to fight against Russia. 130 Danish soldiers are to be part of a British training project, reports the Danish Jyllands-Posten.

Sweden has previously announced that the armed forces will appoint 120 instructors for the training.

The announcement from the Danish Ministry of Defense came ahead of a donor conference, the Copenhagen Conference for Northern Europe’s Defense Allies, which begins on Friday.

The announcement was welcomed by UK Defense Secretary Ben Wallace at a press conference with Danish host Morten Bødskov and Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov.

– We have promised to train up to 10,000 Ukrainian soldiers in Great Britain. I am pleased that Denmark wants to participate in the project, said Wallace at the Kastellet in Copenhagen.

Among other issues to be discussed when 17 defense ministers meet, including Sweden’s Peter Hultqvist (S), there is direct production of weapons systems for Ukraine.
