In 1968, Elvis Presley stepped onto the stage with a red Hagström guitar in hand. Now it is being sold at an auction in the US, reports P4 Dalarna.
The iconic electric guitar in the Hagström Viking model was manufactured in Älvdalen in 1968. In the same year, it was used in Elvis’ televised comeback concert “68 comeback special”, which was the artist’s first live performance after a seven-year hiatus.
The guitar was also recreated for Baz Luhrmann’s film “Elvis”, which premiered in Sweden earlier this summer.
The bids start at 750,000 dollars, corresponding to over seven and a half million kroner. The auction starts on August 27.
