The WhatsApp team is working on new ways to increase privacy and reduce awkwardness. Three new features will soon be available to users to help achieve these goals.
The first is the feature that allows you to quietly leave a group chat. This means you can exit the group chat without awkward goodbyes. Note that group admins will receive a notification while users in the group are not notified.
Next up is something they’ve been working on for a while – the option to control who can see it when you’re online. You can set it to everyone, your contacts only, your contacts with some exceptions, and no one. Both this and the option to leave groups silently will be available to all users later this month.
WhatsApp is working on screenshot blocking for View Once messages
Finally, the last View Once A very important update for the feature. This feature allows users to send a photo or video that disappears after the recipient opens them. But there was one major flaw – the other user could only take a screenshot of the image. Working on screenshot blocking for View Once messages. However, WhatsApp did not say when it will be available to users.
If you haven’t followed all the new privacy features, don’t worry. WhatsApp is launching an education campaign to teach people what options they have and how to keep their correspondence private.
