Coady, who grew up in Liverpool, joins the Merseyside side on loan from Wolverhampton. Coady was also team captain in “Wolves”
The 29-year-old has spent seven seasons at Wolves, including captaining the club to four consecutive Premier League seasons for the first time.
However, Coady can be considered a somewhat surprising signing considering that he has both played in and captained local rival Liverpool’s youth team.
“I look at Liverpool’s results and hope they win games – it’s that simple,” Coady said ahead of a meeting with Liverpool in 2019.
