When Djurgården, AIK and Malmö FF lost heavy points during the weekend, Häcken got a great situation which the team took great advantage of.
The Allsvenskan’s most productive team scored five goals against bottom team Helsingborg. Häcken has now scored 41 goals in 17 games. That gives an average of 2.47 goals per game. If the Gothenburg team continues in the same way, there will be 74 goals when the season is over.
And if Häcken can raise the goal average by just a few hundredths, Hammarby’s listing from 2019 is threatened. “Bajen” scored 75 goals that year, and it is a superior goal record in the Allsvenskan during the 2000s.
Helsingborg has acquired six new players this summer. Four of them were in the starting eleven against Häcken at Bravida Arena.
The visitors started strongly and had a few chances that could have led to an early lead for the bottom team.
Taha Ali dribbled at super speed and created big problems for Häcken’s right back Tomas Totland.
“Come out pretty relaxed”
The defender was careless and lost the ball in semi-dangerous situations.
— We came out quite relaxed. But after the first quarter, it was us who controlled the game, says center back Johan Hammar to Discovery+.
The hedge grabbed the ball and gained more momentum in the passing game. But the lead goal came on a fixed situation after half an hour.
After testing a few variations of short corners, Samuel Gustafson screwed the ball in with a solid strike from the left quarter circle. He dotted the air corridor that opened up in front of the 197 centimeter tall Johan Hammar.
— A good ball in just the right surface. It was just to attack, and it was good that it went in. I have been close now in a few games, says Hammar after his first goal of the season.
First clean sheet of the season
A quarter into the second half, the match was deadlocked. By this time, Oscar Uddenäs had managed to score two goals with technically advanced joints.
Then the Skåne also poked in 4-0 after nice wall play with Mikkel Rygaard. Uddenäs completed his genuine hat-trick in less than 14 minutes.
Helsingborg’s defensive game could not cope with Häcken’s increased tempo and easy-flowing passing game. But the away fans sang patiently: “Come on, HIF!”
Before it was over Blair Turgott headed in 5-0.
But the unusual thing about this sunny evening at Bravida Arena was that Häcken kept a clean sheet. It was actually the first time in this year’s Allsvenskan.
