Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitriy Peskov told reporters in Moscow, the capital of Russia, that Turkey plays an important role in the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. In addition, Peskov has agreed to pay part of the natural gas supply between Turkey and Russia in rubles. “We have reached an important agreement in Istanbul. We hope that the share of national currencies will continue to increase” made the statement.
“WE KNOW THAT ERDOĞAN PLAYED A GREAT ROLE”
Kremlin Spokesman Dmitriy Peskov made evaluations on various issues on the agenda, in a statement to reporters in the capital Moscow.
Evaluating President Erdogan’s offer to hold a meeting in Istanbul between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, Peskov said, “The Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has done a great job in arranging very good conditions for the negotiations between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations. We know it plays a role. President Erdoğan is also making efforts to initiate a peace process.” he said.
“UKRAINE DELEGATION IS LIKELY LOST FROM THE RADAR”
Emphasizing that Turkey also showed the political will to initiate such a process, Peskov said, “However, the Ukrainian delegation almost disappeared from the radar. There is no negotiation process at the moment.” he said.
“IT WAS NOT MADE TO DAMAGE ANYTHING OTHER, INCLUDING THE DOLLAR”
Mentioning the trade in national currencies, which is expected to increase between Turkey and Russia, Peskov said that this step was not taken to harm anything else, including the dollar.
Stating that the dollar is not a reliable reserve currency, Peskov said, “This concern is now shared by many countries. Unfortunately, the country that prints the dollar has shaken confidence in this currency.” said.
“WE HAVE AGREEMENT IN ISTANBUL”
Stating that many countries want to reduce the share of the dollar in trade and increase the share of national currencies, Peskov said, “The same thing happens in our relations with Turkey. We reached an important agreement in Istanbul for a part of our gas supply to be paid in rubles. We hope that the share of national currencies will continue to increase.” used the phrases.
