Jonathan Dahlén is without a contract.
According to information, two SHL clubs have offered the star a lucrative contract.
– It is of course flattering, says agent Claes Elefalk.
The Swede debuted in the NHL last season and really got off to a great start. Jonathan Dahlén received a lot of trust from the San José Sharks initially, something the forward thanked for by scoring seven goals in 15 games.
They have offered Dahlén a contract
Then the point production stopped. In the remaining matches, Jonathan Dahlén accounted for only five goals and eight goal-scoring passes. The less than good efforts caused the San José Sharks not to extend the agreement with the Swede – who is now without a contract.
Interest from other NHL clubs has been weak. But in Europe there are many stakeholders. The Swede is currently training with Timrå, and the SHL newcomer is said to have offered the 24-year-old a contract.
But it is not only Timrå that is interested in bringing Dahlén home to Sweden. According to information to Sportbladet, both Luleå Hockey and Skellefteå AIK are in the hunt for the forward’s signature.
Then the Swede makes a decision
Kvällstidningen also writes that the two clubs have each offered Dahlén a super contract, information that his agent, Claes Elefalk, also comments on:
– It is of course flattering for Jonathan that so many SHL teams are courting him, he says.
The agent also says that Jonathan Dahlén still hopes for a new contract in the NHL – and the decision about his future will wait until the end of the month.
– There will be no decision until the end of August or the beginning of September. Right now he is training at home in Sundsvall, says Claes Elefalk.
