If you want to open a lot of gifts in Pokémon GO, you should plan a little time. But with a simple trick you can shorten the animations.
What is the problem? When opening gifts from friends in Pokémon GO, each gift must be opened individually with a click. Then comes a slightly longer opening animation, followed by the presentation of the newly acquired content.
Only recently, therefore, a discussion arose as to whether a “collect all” button for gifts would make sense.
To date, such an option is missing in Pokémon GO. But at least there is a little trick how to shorten the animation a bit.
For Pokémon GO gifts, tap an “X” that isn’t there
Here’s the trick: You can shorten the animation when opening the gifts by clicking on the exact spot where there was an “X” after “opening”.
Here is a brief overview of the process:
If everything went as planned, the animation will now stop completely and take you back to the display screen of the friend who gave you the gift.
Now you can send your gift back to the friend as usual or scroll to the next friend.
If you want to check what was actually in the gift, you can select your “Journal” in the trainer view. All opened gifts from your friends including their content are listed there.
You can’t completely avoid the loss of time when opening gifts with this trick, but at least everything goes a little faster.
Why should I even open gifts? Basically, it’s worth opening for the items you can get from it. Above all, the 7 km eggs stand out. They can always contain exciting monsters, as was the case recently in the Hisui event.
Another exciting bonus, however, is gaining XP through friendships. Whenever you reach a new friendship level, you get a whole bunch of experience points. If you also coordinate this with a lucky egg, you can make really big leaps towards the next level.
Sending gifts regularly is one of the interactions that can improve your friendship level. You can find out exactly how gaining EP with friendships works here.
