The idea was to close the investigation unit for post-covid in Västerås before or after the summer, but now there is a decision to keep the operation running until the turn of the year.
– Recently, only a few referrals have come in, but we will continue for a while, says Ida Hedberg, head of the post-covid investigation unit.
So far, the unit has received approximately 60 patients.
According to the head of the unit, Region Västmanland’s strategy has always been to try to manage these patients in primary care.
– This will be a temporary unit and in the autumn we will make a new decision in the hope of being able to wind down after the turn of the year, says Ida Hedberg.
