A large police operation took place on Friday evening on Gjörwellsgatan, which is located on Kungsholmen in central Stockholm.
According to information, the police bomb squad was on the scene after the police discovered a suspicious object in connection with a vehicle stop.
– The background to the vehicle stop is an investigation matter, says Daniel Wikdahl, press spokesperson for the Stockholm region police.
The driver of the stopped car was arrested and, according to the police, the crime classification is preparation for gross public dangerous destruction.
The current car has been impounded. The barriers that covered large parts of the street were lifted at 10 p.m.
