Zlatan Ibrahimovic had a knee injury all spring.
Despite that, the Swede played matches – and now the coach tells an unknown detail about “Ibra’s” injury.
– People don’t know about it, says Stefano Pioli.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic turns 41 this autumn. The Swede, on the other hand, has no plans to quit, and earlier this summer signed a new contract with Milan that runs through next season.
Played tort the injury
In recent seasons, “Ibra’s” body has said more and more. The injuries have replaced each other, and after Milan secured the league title, the Swede told us that he had been playing with a severe knee injury all spring, which he is now forced to operate on.
Despite that, he played matches for Milan during the spring. All to be as close to the team as possible as the club chased its first league title in over ten years. Now Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s leadership qualities are praised by the coach.
– Zlatan is not with, but still with, because he is constantly in contact with everyone. He is a champion who can still make a difference, says Stefano Piolo to Gazzetta dello Sport.
Reveals the unknown detail
It is a while until Zlatan is again recovered enough to play matches. Stefano Piolo further explains that rehabilitation is Zlatan’s biggest focus at the moment, and also reveals how little the Swede was able to train during the spring.
– First of all, he must be injury-free. At the end of last season, he made some crazy sacrifices. People don’t know about it but he could only train for a quarter of an hour.
He continues:
– He has superior technique and intelligence, but above all he is still really hungry. From mid-August he will be at Milanello to continue his path forward.
