Sheep farmer Jock Wallace’s daughter heard a loud bang near their home in the Snowy mountains of Australia.

It turned out to be space debris from American Space X that crashed into their sheepfold, according to ABC Southeast.

– If it would have landed on a house, it would have been a hell of a mess, he says to ABC.

A little over a month ago, on July 9, a big bang was heard around the region around the Snowy mountains in South Australia, which many witnessed on social media.

Nobody knew what it was, but on Monday neighbor Jock Wallace stumbled upon a large object in his sheep paddock. He called Jock, who had found the same in his area.

– I had been in the garden a week or so before, and then it wasn’t there. The only way it could have gotten there is for it to have fallen from the sky.

He contacted local authorities, who told him to call Nasa.

– I’m a farmer from Dalgety, what should I say to Nasa? he says to ABC Southeast.

Space junk from SpaceX

During Thursday morning, Swedish time, confirmed the Australian Space Agency that it is scrap from SpaceX.

There are three larger objects in the region, which are the largest pieces found in Australia since 1979.

All space objects, or parts of them, must be returned to their homeland, according to Cassandra Steer, who works at the Space Institute at the Australian National University.

– Unless SpaceX wants nothing to do with it, and maybe donates it to research instead, that’s likely. But it should be sent back to the US.
