A monthly survey on the hardware used is run on the Steam gaming platform. MeinMMO shows you the results from July 2022.
Steam is one of the largest gaming platforms in the world and should be familiar to most gamers on the PC – almost a home. A recent survey on MeinMMO showed that many readers have hundreds of games stored in their Steam library.
Steam regularly conducts a survey that allows an insight into the hardware of Steam gamers. The results for July 2022 are now known and we list what the technology distribution looks like on the platform – in terms of graphics cards, processor power and number of computing cores.
If you would also like to watch a short video on the topic of hardware, we will embed an interesting story here for you:
Steam: Graphics cards – NVIDIA can’t be beat
The usual picture emerges when it comes to the graphics cards used by Steam users – NVIDIA dominates the market and has a market share of over 76% on Steam.
The GTX 1060 from 2016/2017 is still right at the top. The mid-range card offers stable performance with FullHD resolution and has a usage share of over 7%.
The first graphics card from competitor AMD makes it to a distant 16th place with the Radeon RX 580.

Steam: Processors – AMD still on the rise
Intel is still the leader in processor technology. However, AMD plays a bigger role here than in the graphics card market and is still on the rise – compared to June, the share was increased by 2.22%:
The statistics on Steam do not show any processor models, but are sorted by manufacturer, operating system and speed. We list again the technology that comes to at least 1% and limit ourselves to the numbers of Windows.
The shares of Intel technology in Windows PCs can be found in the first spoiler box:
INTEL CPU SPEEDS (WINDOWS)
In the second spoiler box you will find the speed of the AMD processors on Windows.
Regardless of the manufacturer, Steam then lists the number of processor cores used. You can find this distribution in the third spoiler box:
