Azerbaijan carried out a “revenge” operation against illegal Armenian armed groups located in the territory of Azerbaijan, where Russian peacekeepers are temporarily deployed.
In the statement made by the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan, it was reminded that a soldier of the Azerbaijani army was martyred as a result of the terrorist and sabotage action carried out by illegal Armenian forces in the regions temporarily under the control of Russian elements.
In the statement, it was noted that Armenian forces are trying to seize the Kırkkız height in the mountain ranges covering the provinces of Kelbecer and Lachin and to establish new positions there.

It was reported that the Azerbaijani army carried out an operation called “Kısas”, and Sarıbaba and a number of other dominant hills located in the Karabakh range of the Lesser Caucasus mountain range were taken under control. It was noted that Azerbaijani troops are working on the establishment of new positions in this direction and the construction of supply routes.

Within the scope of the operation, it was reported that several positions belonging to illegal Armenian armed elements were destroyed and an airstrike was carried out on the military unit in the Yukarı Ortağ settlement of the former Agdere province. It was stated that there were dead and wounded among the illegal Armenian forces, several D-30 howitzer guns, military vehicles and many ammunition were destroyed in the attack.
In the statement, it was stated that the Armenian soldiers should be removed from the regions temporarily under the control of the Russian elements and the Armenian armed forces should be disarmed, and it was stated that all kinds of terrorist acts and provocations on the territory of Azerbaijan will be resolutely prevented from now on, and countermeasures will be even more destructive.
