Last minute The world stood up after Putins decision in

The FIFA 23 career mode was introduced and brings some innovations. But are they enough to make the mode more exciting again?

This was presented for the FIFA 23 career mode: With the help of a new trailer, EA Sports showed what innovations you can expect in FIFA 23 career mode.

A distinction is made between the “classic” career mode – i.e. the variant where you lead a team of your choice as a coach – and the “player career” in which you take on your own player.

FIFA 23: Trailer shows innovations in career mode

The coaching career has been perhaps the most important offline mode for many players for years. There you can drive your favorite club to excellence, sign and sell players, shape talent and win titles that might not even be possible in real life.

At the same time, the career is repeatedly accused of standing still, with only small changes. How is it this year?

Career mode brings real coaches and playable highlights – what else?

What’s new in career mode? In the trainer career, the most exciting change is that you can finally take on real trainers. Instead of your own avatar, you can simply adopt real-world trainers such as Pep Guardiola or Jürgen Klopp.

You can then use these trainers in any club, in your “own club” as well, and you can also customize their outfits. However, they don’t seem to have any special skills compared to other trainers.

The second interesting change affects everyone who prefers to manage, but still likes to play the matches a little in between: You can now select “playable highlights” of a match in the career.

Most of the match is simulated there. But if your team has a promising attack, a penalty or something like that, then the game will automatically bring you to this point. You then play the situation yourself before jumping to the next “highlight”. You can choose whether you want to play all highlights or just the offensive highlights.

So far you have been able to simulate an entire match, watch the interactive simulation or jump in and out of the match if necessary. The simulation possibilities are supplemented with the “playable highlights”.

What else does the coaching career bring? There are a few more innovations. This includes:

  • The “Transfer Analyst”. It tells you whether your transfer was a good deal and whether your investment in a new player was worth it. So you should be able to improve your negotiation skills.
  • You can now customize a third jersey and the goalkeeper jersey for your own clubs.
  • There is now a more accurate budget overview of your club.
  • There are “dynamic moments”. These are new cinematics that will accompany the most important stages of your career. This can concern a breakthrough as a player (in the player’s career), but also transfer market behavior.
  • There is a new main menu in career mode. This is much more similar to Ultimate Team:

Are there any other innovations? The other innovations fall mainly in the area of ”player career”. There are now different personality types for your players, to which the stats in the game style are based.

You can then develop your personality not only in press conferences or on the pitch, but also through events off the pitch.

For example, you can give other players gifts, let them see you at birthday parties and the like. This complements the new player career features from last year.

The problem with career mode: It’s almost a tradition that fans want new features for the career mode.

This year brings something players have been wanting with playable trainers. Over the last few years there have also been innovations such as your own club in FIFA 22 or the improved training and talent system from FIFA 21.

However, many elements of the career mode have often remained similar to its predecessors over the years, there has not really been a real “complete overhaul” of the mode.

An often requested feature that some players wish for is an online component to play the career with friends – or even against them. That is also missing this year.

Story-wise, little has happened in his career lately. Reports about the games or about your club in the news center are repeated quite quickly, and you don’t see too much variety in contact with players either.

Are the innovations in FIFA 23 enough to inspire the players? What do you think of the new features? Tell us in the comments!

An important innovation this year, however, is the crossplay in FIFA 23. But that doesn’t apply to the career for the time being.
