Twitter is testing the ability to follow accounts without signing up

EPN in Eastern Ukraine People are very worried This will

The social network is testing an option on its iOS application to test the service without having to create an account.

Testing Twitter before signing up, that’s what Twitter would be working on. The social network is indeed testing, on its iOS application, an option allowing new users to explore the service without having to create an account. This system, which would allow Twitter to attract new users, would however be limited.

Newcomers to the platform would thus be able to read tweets, respond to them and subscribe to up to fifty accounts. Twitter would also allow these potential new users to search for tweets, to consult the Explore section as well as the trends of the moment, but also to receive notifications on their device. However, this “test” mode would not allow users to retweet or like the tweets to which they have access. As for the customization options offered with this restricted access, they are also limited.

Not everyone is ready to sign up for an account the first time they try Twitter. Our team wants to give people an easy way to read tweets and experience having a timeline. It’s an experiment and still mvp. LMK if you have feedback (but you’ll need to create an account first ?) https://t.co/2kJe5gvRNG

This test is currently only offered to a small number of users on iOS and in a limited number of countries. Until now, consultation of tweets by non-registered users on the platform was only possible from the web version of the service. To access tweets from its mobile applications, Twitter requires an account login.

This test to try Twitter before registering is not the first foray of the platform to try to seduce newcomers. Long criticized for the excessive complexity of its use by an uninformed public, Twitter had already taken a step forward to simplify access to its service. Last year, the social network had, for example, inaugurated buttons allowing you to connect using the identifiers of your Apple or Google account.
